Cleo Westorpe

Co-Founder

Cleo is an accomplished and highly regarded secondary school teacher, geographer and mentor in the world of education. Equal parts educator and entrepreneur, Cleo loves working with students, teachers and principals to foster classrooms and schools where all voices are heard, amplified and embraced. She has co-authored the Geography Alive textbook series, now in its eighth version. 

Belinda Harries

Co-Founder

Belinda is a seasoned Australian education policy expert, having spent many years in senior roles within the Commonwealth and Victorian state governments. Qualified in economics, Bel is a dynamic thinker willing to embrace and develop outside-the-box opportunities. She has combined her government career with ventures including founding a development think-tank in Vanuatu. 

Caitlin Macleod

Co-Founder

Caitlin is a management consultant with expertise in regulation, strategy and governance. She has advised companies and governments across the UK, Africa, the Pacific, and Australia. With an academic background in law, social psychology and anthropology she brings to Pivot an emphasis on high-quality evidence, as well as a fascination with how clever approaches can liberate individuals to be their best. 

Amanda Bickerstaff

CEO

Amanda has spent the 15 years in the education and education technology fields with a focus on professional learning, online learning, STEM, computer science education, and curriculum development. After stumbling into EdTech after graduate school, she has helped build and launch multiple organisations in the US with a focus on improving teacher practice and student outcomes.

Co-Founder

Audrey has extensive administration and operations management experience across the insurance, medical and engineering industries. She is always keen to streamline a process and to achieve the best result.  Audrey has been with Pivot for a number of years and loves to help all of Pivot’s clients with a smile.

Account Manager

Emma has decades of experience in the luxury hotel industry, and this attention to detail and high level of bespoke customer service ensures all of her clients receive the highest level of support. The specialist school field is an area she is passionate about as she tries to ensure all voices can be heard throughout all types of educational settings. 

Account Manager

Ethan is a customer service professional with degrees in both business management and human resources. Previously Ethan has run customer service teams in the Hospitality, Entertainment and Energy sectors and is now excited to enter the Education space. Having grown up in the Melbourne University collegiate, education has always been a large and influential part of Ethan’s psychological makeup. He is driven by the wish to contribute to improving the educational experience of young minds.

Accounts and Administration

Kadie is a qualified Accountant who has worked in a wide range of industries ranging from ASX listed mining companies to the last 5 years spent in early childhood education where she has focused on growth and development. She has recently started her Masters in Teaching which has been a passion project a long time in the making and looks forward to utilising her knowledge.

Account Manager

Karen has worked in sales, service, support, and operations for over 25 years, working in both government and non-government organisations. As an account manager Karen has provided support to and worked with small, medium and enterprise customers, including schools and childcare and prides herself on delivering great service and understanding customer needs. Karen is passionate about working for Pivot and recognises the value and importance of supporting students to achieve.

Head of Product

Kate is an experienced Product Manager and UX Designer, living and breathing all things research, data and tech. Bringing over 15 years of experience across Australia, the US and UK, her career has involved developing and bringing to market both new products and award-winning creative activations for some of the world’s best-known brands such as Google, YouTube, Lonely Planet and Starbucks. She has Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics and Commerce and a passion for EdTech and school data models.

Chief Technology Officer​

Li-Shuai is an experienced technology leader with extensive experience across a wide variety of industries including banking, telecommunications and media. Drawing on a background in engineering and architecture, Li-Shuai has worked with some of Australia’s largest and most prominent companies and was more recently the CTO for a data analytics tech startup. With Pivot he looks to utilise his extensive knowledge on technology and data to build great products for schools.

School Partnerships

Michelle has accumulation of 20 years of study and experience in the luxury hotel and tourism industry has placed her as an expert in the customer service industry.  Her more recent roles leading yield management teams has also suited her intuitive appreciation of data and analysis. With a passion for education, she is delighted to be utilizing these areas of expertise to assist our partner schools, teachers and students in achieving their goals.

School Partnerships

Peter has worked in senior Business Development roles within the education, sport and insurance industries. Peter started his career as a teacher and was a Director of Sport in private schools in both the ACT and QLD. This deep experience gives him a strong rapport with teachers and school leaders enabling him to achieve great outcomes for schools.

Designer

Susan is an experienced screen creative with over 20 years working in digital product development as a UX/UI designer and animator. She has worked for a number of well known Australian brands including Seek, Movember, ANZ and Envato. Having started her career as a secondary teacher she continues to teach part time into the animation program she is an alumni of, at RMIT. She maintains her own creative practice as a film maker and animator.

Vera is a Certified Practicing Accountant and finance professional with a love of fine detail, problem-solving and database administration. With almost 20 years of business analysis experience in the manufacturing industry, she now enjoys the mix of working with clients and making sure internal operations are as smooth and efficient as possible.

Principal Engineer

Hiten is a Seasoned Software Engineer with extensive experience across a wide variety of industries including Identity, space, and oil & gas. Hiten has strong experience in architecting and designing solutions with cloud services, predominantly AWS, and is passionate about building applications with Event-Driven Serverless Architectures.

Principal Engineer

Clinton is a software engineer with extensive experience across the full technology stack – specialising in backend development, but with experience in the frontend, data, and cloud as well. Having worked primarily in the financial services and FinTech space in the past, he looks to apply his engineering know-how to solution and build great products for schools at Pivot.

Amy Grieve

Education Manager

Aimée is a qualified teacher, with teaching and leadership experience across a wide range of primary school settings both in the UK, Europe and Australia. More recently she stepped away from the classroom to work in national education policy, where she worked on projects related to initial teacher education. Aimée brings a wealth of education knowledge and classroom experience to her role at Pivot, along with an understanding of the Australian education landscape at a policy level.

Andrew Leap

Student Voice Advocate

Andrew is a recent VCE graduate currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Global Studies at Monash University. He was the College Captain at his school and was involved with many student voice initiatives both within the college and wider-community, including speaking to or working with policymakers on important areas such as education and health. He continues to be an avid representative for young people.

Ben Lovell

Director of Business Development

Ben has worked in the education sector for over 20 years, as a teacher and a leader, particularly in experiential learning programs. He comes to Pivot with a strong focus and expertise in the area of forming strategic partnerships and client relationships with schools at all levels; aligning products and services to achieve student outcomes. Ben is responsible for the strategic growth and development of new and exciting opportunities across the whole platform, as Pivot continues to expand its offerings to schools throughout Australia.

Lexi Kelsall

Student Voice Advocate

Lexi is a recent high school graduate, currently studying a bachelor of science at the University of Melbourne. Spending her years at school promoting student voice, she is passionate about promoting student advocacy in schools around Australia. She is excited to be a part of the growing Pivot team so she can work with others to ensure all young voices have a chance to be heard and combined to create the best environment for student learning and growth.

Matthew Violi

Junior Product Engineer

Matt is obsessed with technology, and its potential to improve the lives of everyone. He has experience with multiple start-ups in various industries gaining a well-rounded knowledge of fast growing businesses. He is excited to use a human centred approach to problem solving and development to improve the Pivot platform.

Nadia Morgante

Nadia has enjoyed a successful career in Finance and Bookkeeping over the last 30 years. She has a degree in Business and has worked across various sectors, including the retail and service industries.   She enjoys using her excel and system skills to support the Pivot team internally, as well as provide high-level customer service to her account base.

Nicolas

Head of Engineering

Nicolas loves technology, creating innovative products and helping engineering teams reaching their potential. He had the opportunity to work across various industries, building a deep understanding of what is required to develop a successful platform. He aims to redefine Pivot’s technical strategy, allowing us to improve our customer offerings.

Wren Gillett

Student Voice Advocate

Wren was part of VicSRC’s executive committee for close to three years, and chaired the executive team within this time. She has a been a youth champion for charitable organisations such as the Alannah and Madeline Foundation and Dolly’s Dream, and has spoken at multiple conferences and events across Australia about the power and significance of student voice, agency and empowerment. Wren is currently in her second year of university majoring in journalism, and continues to be a passionate spokesperson for young people.
